It is the local point of contact for Christian Aid, to help churches and Christian Aid Groups grow in giving, acting and praying to address poverty and injustice. It meets with clergy to engage new churches and to re-engage supporting churches; it speaks at services, events, youth groups, school assemblies and classes; it supports church and community fundraising events; and promote Christian Aid appeals, resources, events and campaigns.

About the role

As a London Church Coordinator, you will manage a caseload of approximately 200 churches, pro rata, in London in a way that inspires participation to give, act and pray with Christian Aid. You will ensure Christian Aid serves, inspires and equips the spectrum of London churches to make an impact on poverty through Christian Aid.

About you

You should think of this post in the context of Christian ministry. You will know that the injustice of global poverty is not in God’s plan for His world and you’ll know the church can lead the way in transformational change. You will bring your experience in a Church context, ideally with knowledge of African and Caribbean Black Majority Churches in London. It would be significantly advantageous if you are experienced at building and nurturing new and existing networks and relationships, speak confidently and effectively, fundraised and advocated. Through effective key-worked relationships with churches you’ll meet challenging fundraising targets, generate creative and effective engagement ideas and be ready to partner with a wide range of people to achieve multiple outcomes, including volunteers, leaders, pastors, ministers, colleague and Christian media.

The successful candidates will be expected to travel and engage on an on-going basis with the possible churches in the following boroughs:
