Christian Aid Ireland: Facilitate a Learning Review of the Gender-Transformative Approach Pilot Fund

October 2025

Background

In 2024, Christian Aid Ireland (CAI) launched a Pilot Fund of €150,000 to be used for gender- transformative learning and innovation with its staff and partners. The aim of the Pilot Fund was to allow for the testing of ideas that promote gender-transformative programming and inform future work on gender equality and social inclusion. The purpose was to build on existing gender work, spearhead ideas that help move from gender-responsive to gender-transformative approaches (GTA), and generate learning on GTAs. At CAI, we understand GTAs as approaches that seek to contribute to challenging and addressing the root causes of gender inequality rather than just responding to the symptoms of it alone. CAI uses the Gender at Work Framework and the principle of the gender equality continuum to inform its approach to GTA.

Consultancy Objectives & Deliverables

A consultant is sought to facilitate CAI and the wider team engaged in the GTA Pilot Fund to undertake the learning review. The objectives of the consultancy are:

  • To facilitate the achievement of the above Learning Review Objectives through facilitating the online reflection spaces, identifying and drawing together insights, themes and learning for future work from across the spaces for further exploration.
  • To document the above in an accessible learning paper that will be suitable for both internal and external audiences.

For full details please refer to the attached document.   Closing date for applications is 24 October 2025.
